FAQs

What is Three Purple Hearts?

It’s a blog and a personal altar. A place where I write from the whole places, the healed-over places, and the still-bleeding places. The name nods to various phases I’ve lived through: being broken, becoming whole, and offering what I’ve learned to others. There are no medals here—just truth, tenderness, and transformation.

Are you a therapist?

Nope. I’m not a licensed therapist. I am a trained mental health and wellness professional and trauma-informed coach. In other spaces, I do offer presence, perspective, and compassionate witness. But never diagnoses or clinical treatment. I’m not a therapist, I have a therapist, and this particular space is one of the ways in which I am continuing to pursue health and wholeness.

Do you still consider yourself a Christian?

Yes, and…
I still follow Jesus, but not the sanitized, weaponized version often handed out in toxic churches. I believe in sacred love, table-flipping grace, and the God who sits with the broken. My faith is no longer rooted in fear or shame. It’s rooted in presence, justice, and compassion. I do not practice the safely organized religion of my youth but I do believe that love is the bottom line.

Who is this blog for?

Myself, primarily. And also…
Anyone who’s felt spiritually homeless.
Anyone unraveling shame.
Anyone healing from trauma.
Anyone trying to hold space for themselves and others.
You don’t have to believe what I believe or be where I am—just come with your whole self. That’s enough. You’re enough.

Why do you write so personally?

Because silence almost killed me.
Because I believe stories save us.
Because someone has to go first.
Writing is how I process, how I heal, and how I leave breadcrumbs for anyone who needs to know they’re not alone.

Can I share your writing?

Sure, with credit. You’re welcome to share links or short excerpts with attribution. If you want to republish a full piece or collaborate, just reach out first.

Do you offer coaching or group work?

I do! While this blog is primarily a personal space, I do offer trauma-informed coaching sessions, group experiences, or creative healing spaces customized to the needs of any group or individual. If you’re curious, contact me at Unspiral.Life.

How can I support your work?

Share a post that spoke to you or leave a comment or send a message (I read everything I get). Most of all: keep showing up for your own healing. That matters more than anything.

What if I have other questions?

Send them to me. I’m a pretty open book. My story is my own and I am always thrilled when it is able to empower someone else to know and give voice to their own.
